Abstract

The rapid growth of the Internet and digital technologies has made data sharing easier but has also increased cybersecurity risks. This study examines the importance of cybersecurity in protecting digital systems, data, and users from evolving cyberthreats. It highlights the rise in cybercrime, including issues such as data breaches, online harassment, and crimes targeting vulnerable groups, especially women and children. The paper discusses key cybersecurity techniques such as password protection, antivirus software, firewalls, and malware detection tools. It also explores major challenges such as advanced persistent threats, zero-day attacks, and security risks associated with IoT devices. Additionally, the role of social media in increasing cyber vulnerabilities was analyzed. The study concludes that, along with technical solutions, strong legal frameworks, user awareness, and proactive measures are essential to ensure a safe and secure digital environment
