Abstract

The introduction of IoT has transformed healthcare delivery at an unprecedented rate. Traditionally, healthcare services would depend on the patient's location; however, the use of IOT devices by healthcare professionals enables them to not only monitor their patients' vital signs and daily activities remotely but continuously with the ability to provide real-time updates to the healthcare provider through secure access methods. By continually collecting and reviewing patient data from IOT devices, providers are able to determine patterns and develop treatment plans for patients with chronic diseases as well as those related to the aging process. Nonetheless, the healthcare industry still requires resolution to many of the issues associated with using IOT in the provision of healthcare services.
